Gratitude Practice Month
Compassion Revolution invites our community to join us in a month of gratitude practice commencing 1 September 2023. We are keen to map participant’s mind-shifts—and if indeed a month is all it takes to reap the benefits.
Gratitude can seem so simple and so basic that we often overlook just how much benefit it brings.
The body of scientific research supporting the positive impact of gratitude on physical, psychological and social health is quite large. Not only does it feel good, this simple practice protects and boosts your immune system, reduces stress and anxiety, buffers against depression, improves sleep, and supports healthy proactive behaviours such as exercise. On top of all that, it may even make you smarter.
People who regularly practice gratitude are less likely to procrastinate and more likely to remain focused on priorities, as well as find creative solutions to problems. Research also indicates that the benefits are reciprocal. The person who is giving, the person who is receiving, and—remarkably—the people who are witnessing, all benefit from expressions of gratitude.
Wow! We want you to feel all those benefits so we’re running an experiment. We’re inviting you to join the Compassion Revolution Team and the Making Work Beautiful speakers and volunteers and record the things you feel grateful for the month of September.
Here’s how it works
Sign-up and we’ll send you a welcome email and some very simple instructions on how to participate in the daily gratitude practice. It’s as simple as each morning taking out a journal or writing in your favourite app three things you feel grateful for every day.
We’ll check in with you every Friday and invite you to share some of your gratitude with us and every Monday we’ll share our gratitude with you.
Yes, sign me up for
the month of
gratitude practice.
