BIOGRAPHY

As a proud Māori-Irish takatāpui/queer woman, I bring cultural honour, authenticity, and a collaborative approach as I live into my ancestors wildest dreams for me.

I am an expert in thought leadership, Youth Development and nonviolent community building, with over 18 years of experience in leadership. I believe that great leadership is not having the answers, but having the transformational questions. I am passionately driven to see every person feels valued, having an equal opportunity to flourish into their full potential. I was trained in nonviolent direct action and community building by Jim Lawson, the head strategist of the US Civil Rights Movement who studied under Gandhi, along with leaders in the practices of community empowerment, strategies for systems change and advocacy. Having been awarded New Zealand’s 2024 Prime Minister’s Award, this allowed me to travel for two months in Chile and to Rapa Nui, meeting with five of their Indigenous communities. This experience deepened my understanding of the power of Indigenous revolution and ancestral knowledge.
