DAY 2— Thursday 13 November at 1:30pm
It's time for a grass roots care revolution

BIOGRAPHY

In 2019 Jenny took early retirement to be full-time carer for her husband, Michael, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2014.

In 2022 her husband’s dementia took an unexpected downward spiral which saw him hospitalised, then moved to a Specialised Dementia Unit, then transferred to a neurobehavioural unit and eventually placed in a purpose built Dementia Village.

Jenny will give insight to the 11 years (so far) of loss, frustration, guilt, anger, tenacity and, most importantly, the love that has helped her to navigate both dementia and the current aged care system as a care-giver.

As a qualified public relations professional with a flair for event management, Jenny Daly managed events such as the World Solar Challenge, Tour Down Under, Special Olympics National Games, Cricket World Cup and components of a Royal Visit by HRH Prince Edward. But caring for a spouse with dementia is the toughest job she has ever handled.
