BIOGRAPHY
Jane Sloane is the inaugural Director of the Global Policy Initiative at UNSW and was previously Senior Director, Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality with The Asia Foundation. Her other roles have included Vice President of Programs, Global Fund for Women; Vice President of Development, Women’s World Banking; and Executive Director, International Women’s Development Agency. At The Asia Foundation, Jane led the foundation’s work on advancing care policies, delivery, and justice in Asia and the Pacific, including the Bali Care Economy Dialogue staged on the eve of the G20 in Indonesia.
Jane holds a BA (Hons History) from the University of Adelaide and a master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Sydney and is a graduate of the Oxford Health Leaders Program at the Saïd Business School at Oxford University. She’s the recipient of a Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Adelaide, an Alumni Award for Service to Humanity from the University of Sydney, and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Adelaide. She is one of the original 75 Australian climate change presenters trained by Al Gore, a member of the Climate Reality Corp, and a Senior Atlantic Fellow with the Inequalities Institute at The London School of Economics.
